Website search engines are not a new thing, in fact website search engines have been going as early as the late 80’s with programmers using databases to find information and then posting the information online.
What is a search engine? Well a search engine is a place where you can find information that has been stored by other people. A type of search engine is Google, Google is now Australia’s largest search engine with over 80% of people choosing to use this search engine.
Search engines such as Google are so important in today’s marketplace for many reasons, the most important reason is to do with the saving of time. Although there are many good points with a search engine such as Google there are also negative points, the real negative to this search engine is the fact that the information is always not 100% true. The reason for this is anyone can post information on Google. If you look at a dictionary for example the information is accurate however Google may have some bend in the truth due to the general public being able to add almost anything they want to this search engine.
Website search engines have now taken over from paper based books such as yellow pages, this is due to the wider range of search and quickness of data being transferred.
